Meldon Alma Beus

Mel was born in Ogden, Utah on September 16, 1935, to Alma Felix Beus and Lily Louise Parker. Mel passed away peacefully at Ogden Regional Hospital on April 7, 2023.

In 1954, Mel married Mary Joy Fox, and had 4 wonderful children together. The two divorced, and Mel moved to Las Vegas, NV, where he lived for 15+ years. He worked and retired from the Barbary Coast Casino as a coin room manager. He loved to go dancing with the ladies and had quite the moves. After retirement, Mel moved back to his hometown of Ogden, Utah. He loved to fish and hunt as well as share his many memories of his life adventures with his family. He and his girlfriend, Jean, made many trips to Wendover and enjoyed walking through the Ogden River Trail.

Mel was preceded in death by his parents, his brother Bill (William) Beus, sister, Elva Wilkes, and one grandson, Sammy Beus.

Mel is survived by his girlfriend Jean, and children, Mary Lou (Steve) Yoder of Colorado, Alan (Anna) Beus of Nevada, Carma Harper of Oregon, and Tom (Roxie) Beus of Utah. He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.

The family would like to express their great appreciation and gratitude to the staff at Ogden Regional Hospital for being so caring in his final days.

A celebration of life will be planned at a later time.
