Milford (Verl) L Van Weerd

With sadness we announce that early in the morning on May 7, 2019, Milford (Verl) Van Weerd Jr., a wonderful husband, father and grandfather passed away.  He was the son of Milford Van Weerd Sr and Alice Merle Cooke. 

He is survived by his wife, Karin, and daughters Heidi and Deidre and son, Kevin; and daughters, Bridget and Roxanne and son, Spencer, from a former marriage. 

Verl had a compassionate soul, always ready to help.  Cooking was his passion, showing off his cooking skills on deployments and at home.  He loved to play pranks and had an investigative mind.  He knew everything there is to know about airplanes, having served in the Air Force for 24 years.  He will be sorely missed.

Funeral Services will be held Friday, May 10, 2019 at 11 am at the Layton 2nd Ward Chapel ,  400 South  2200 West, Layton, Utah.   A viewing will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 am prior to the service at the same location.
