Nancy Karen Nelson

At the age of 71, Nancy Karen Nelson passed away on February 25, 2026. Born on December 1, 1954, in Detroit, Michigan, she was the beloved daughter of Jeanne Marie (Waldeck) and Charlton Oakey Goodykoontz.

A proud graduate of Franklin High School in Livonia, Michigan, she dedicated 32 years of her professional life as an analyst at Hill Air Force Base, showcasing her commitment and expertise in her field.

She leaves behind her loving sons, Jesse and Justin Nelson, and her cherished grandchildren, Payson, Sophie, and Julian Nelson. Known for her kindness and generosity, she embraced the roles of "mom" and "grandma" to many, extending her warmth and compassion beyond her immediate family.

Preceded in death by her parents and her former husband, Charles S. Nelson, her spirit will continue to be cherished by all who fulfilled their lives with her love and kindness. She will be remembered fondly and missed dearly.
