Nathan Dale Waite

Nathan “Nate” Dale Waite, 41, passed away on July 12, 2025 in his home in Layton, Utah after his battle with cancer. Nate was welcomed into this world by his parents, Paul Waite and Elaine Fay Reeve on January 22,1984. He graduated from Layton High School in 2002.

Nate was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints, and served a service mission to the Church Storehouse with joy and dedication. He loved his calling as a Church Librarian, and loved to talk about the Gospel.

Nate liked going for long walks, taking time to enjoy nature and the people around him. Nate was an avid reader, with favorites such as Fablehaven, Sherlock Holmes, and loved discussing Harry Potter with whoever would listen. He loved games of all kinds, both Video and Board games, and particularly treasured the time playing with loved ones, some of his favorite games being Life, 7 Wonders, and Killer Bunnies. His enthusiasm and joy made family game night a pleasure for all.

Nate leaves behind a family who loves him deeply and will dearly miss him. He is survived by his father, Paul Waite, and his Stepmother, Janet Popham. He leaves behind six siblings: Valerie (Brant) Wilson, Christopher (Megan) Waite, Curtis (Heather) Waite, Amber Waite, Amanda (Michael) Whatcott, and Adam Waite; his step-grandmother Marion Popham, and 11 nieces and nephews.

Nate is reunited in death with his mother, Elaine Fay Reeve, his grandparents John and Jolene Waite, grandparents Dale and Ina Reeve, and step-grandfather James Popham.

The viewing will be held on Friday, July 18th, 2025, at 2160 West Gordon Ave, Layton, Utah, from 11:30 to 12:30. A memorial will be held after from 1 to 2. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memories of Nate be written at the viewing or memorial.
