Rick Omer Green, age 69, passed away peacefully on September 10 at his home in Deweyville, Utah, after a long and courageous battle with Parkinson’s disease.
Rick was born on March 19, 1956, at Sacred Heart Hospital in Idaho Falls, Idaho, to Richard “Dick” Walter Green and Jeanne Ann Deschamps Green. He was lovingly welcomed by his older sister, Cheryl Lee Green, and older brother, Gary Richard Green.
In October 1975, Rick married Cindy, and together they raised three wonderful children: Kelli, Mistie, and Chris.
In 2010, Rick married the love of his life, Shari, and he quickly and wholeheartedly became “Pops” to her four children. With Shari, Rick found a deep and lasting companionship, and their blended family became one of his greatest sources of joy and pride.
Rick was a man of few words, but he lived with courage and authenticity. Fearless in spirit, he spoke fluent “engine” and possessed a rare gift for bringing any machine back to life. Known by many as a mechanical genius—some would even say a car whisperer—Rick’s hands, knowledge, and determination built more than engines; they built trust, respect, and admiration among all who knew him.
Rick is survived by his sister, Cheryl Lee Green; his brother, Gary Richard Green; his wife, Shari Green (Rindlisbacher); his daughters, Kelli (Rick) Rojo and Mistie (Rob) Wielang; his son, Chris (Tashina) Green; and his stepdaughters, Tori Brown, Tiffany (Bill) Chanthapannha, Trisha (Clipton) Chacon, and Tenille Moore. He also leaves behind 18 grandchildren and 4 great-grandchildren, who brought him endless joy.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to Canyon Home Care and Hospice for their compassionate care, especially Stephany, his nurse, who became such a blessing during his final days.
