Rita Marie Happenny

On February 26, 1947 our beautiful sister was born in Pawtucket, Rhode Island and passed into the loving arms of her Mom and Dad on March 27, 2019. She can now dance with Dad and go shopping with Mom.

Rita was born with Spina Bifida and lived 72 wonderful years thanks to the loving care of her Mom and Dad and the rest of her extended family. She was raised and schooled in Cumberland, RI where she received her High School Diploma.

Upon moving to Utah she spent many happy years volunteering at McKay Dee Hospital and was recognized for her extensive volunteer hours. She was also awarded the 2-Together Volunteer Service award, and had the most fun appearing on the Jerry Lewis Telethon helping to raise money for the Muscular Dystrophy Association.

Rita is preceded in death by her Dad and Mom, George F. Happenny and Rita M. Happenny.

She is survived by her three brothers: John (Kris) of Hooper, UT; Stephen (Margret) of Auburn ,WA and her youngest brother and best friend in the world, James of Ogden, UT; along with many nieces and nephews.

A viewing will be held Monday, April 1 2019 from 6:00 to 8:00 pm, Aaron’s Mortuary, 496 24th St, Ogden.

Tuesday Morning Mass will be held at 12:00 pm, St. Joseph Catholic Church, 514 24th St, Ogden.

Rita and her family would like to thank all of her caregivers and physicians at University of Utah Hospital and extend a special thanks to all of the staff at Utah Valley Specialty Hospital for all of their loving care and kindness.
