Robert J. Moncur, lovingly known as Bob, age 76, of Sunset, Utah, passed away peacefully on September 6, 2025. He was born on July 15, 1949, in Denver, Colorado, to Reuben and Betty Moncur.
Bob proudly served his country as a Vietnam veteran. In October of 1971, he married the love of his life, Bonnie Kent, and together they built a beautiful family and a lifetime of cherished memories.
Bob is survived by his devoted wife, Bonnie; his daughter, Dana Harvey (Jake); his sister, Cheryl Shelburg (Shane); his grandchildren, Shelby Wright (Zach) and Kelsey Harvey (Deryck Pluim); and his great-grandchildren, Remi, Beau, and Daisy. He is also remembered with love by his nieces, Lisa Thompson (Jerry) and Brandi Girot; and his nephew, Matthew Griffin. He was preceded in death by his parents and his nephew, William Houston.
One of Bob’s greatest joys was traveling across the states to watch his twin granddaughters play basketball. He rarely missed a game and cherished the opportunity to support them both on and off the court.
Bob will be remembered for his deep love of family, his unwavering support, and the joy he found in life’s simple and meaningful moments.
A Graveside service will be held on Friday, September 26, 2025, at 10 a.m. at Utah Veterans Cemetery and Memorial Park, 17111 1700 West, Bluffdale, Utah 84065. Food and Gathering for anyone interested in paying respects or sharing memories of Bob will start around 1 p.m. at 2589 North 450 West, Sunset, Utah 84015.
