Rodney Ray Beeston

Rodney Ray Beeston, age 61, passed away in Sunset, Utah on Wednesday, September 5, 2018. He was born May 3, 1957 in Ogden, Utah to Thomas and Vera Beeston and was the oldest of nine children.

Rod grew up in Orem, Utah and served a mission for the Church of Jesus Christ Latter Day Saints in the New York City, New York mission.  Rod was a faithful member of the church throughout his entire life. He graduated from the University of Utah with a degree in Electrical Engineering. It was there that he met his wife, Cindy. They moved to Colorado, where they lived for 32 years and raised their five children.

Although he sold his motorcycle in his early 30s, he always maintained a sense of adventure. With a mischievous sense of humor and a passion for rock music, Rod was always his own person. Undoubtably whistling on his way to heaven, Rod is survived by his wife Cindy and his five children: Linda Johnson (Rich), Rebecca Beeston, Gail Mecham (Drew), Julie Beeston (Kevin Moultrie), and Daniel Beeston. Rod was also a loving grandfather of three: Korbin, Zelda, and River Johnson, and a caring brother to Ralph Beeston (Denise), Maureen Beeston, Andra Stokes (Ray), Bruce Beeston (Carolyn), Keith Beeston (Jeri), VaNae Flake (Read), Sharon Brooks (Jason), Janell Taylor (Aaron).

Funeral services will be Wednesday, September 12, at 11:00am at Aaron’s Mortuary – 1050 South State Street, Clearfield, UT. There will a Family Visitation prior to the service from 10:00 – 11:00am.

Dear Beeston Family,
I have never met any of you before, and from the comments I am seeing here you truly must have been an amazing and joyous family. The loss of Rod has affected me and many others who were there at the time of his passing. My sincerest condolences and deepest sympathies in your time of mourning and grief. May your family always be able to reflect on the happy times and those things which were so special and shared with close friends as well. I pray for your pain and sorrow to be eased and your family to heal from this loss. God bless you all.

Ahhhh, memories of Rod Beeston where do we begin? Maybe with that impish grin, and his uncanny ability to know when you were not feeling just right, he could use his wit and warmth to make you smile. Many a night, after being invited (yet again) to the Beeston's home, we shared in the enjoyment of a great home cooked mea, which was of course, accompanied by one of Rod;'s famous ( if not a bit too long) funny stories. You always knew if you were in need, on a moment's notic,e Rod would be there with his vast electrical knowledge to fix that broken stove or lend a blessing or explain electrical currents to your WEBELO class. He beamed with pride for his beautiful talented wife, whom he called everyday before he come home from work. Rod had a great reluctance to give up old technology, as evidenced by his decades old collection of floppy disks and various outdated computer parts which he KNEW he could use for that proverbial "I will need this someday'" I guess, if it had electronics in it, Rod Beeston loved it and knew he could fix it with his brilliant engineer mind. But it was so clear, what Rod really loved the most was his wonderful family and his unwavering devotion to the gospel of Jesus Christ. We will forever miss you, Rod Beeston, and are happy to know we will see you again.
