Ron was known for his warm heart, strong work ethic, and quick sense of humor. He was a beloved husband, father, brother, Poopa, friend, and mentor to many. Those who knew Ron will remember his unwavering loyalty, his generosity and willingness to serve. Family meant everything to Ron. He is survived by his wife, Rose Marie Ricks; and their five children: Rebecca (Jeremy) Mahoskey, Jacqueline Ricks, Matthew (Mandy) Currier, Jessica (Daniel) Ramirez, and Shelby (Tj) Hammond. He was a loving Poopa to ten grandchildren and two grand pups who brought immense joy and pride to his life.
On June 5, 1986, he married the love of his life, Rose Marie (Humphreys) Ricks. Together they built a strong and loving home in Plain City, Utah, where they raised five children and created a lifetime of memories.
He dedicated nearly 37 years to the United States Postal Service. Where he built lifelong friendships and earned the respect of both colleagues and the community. He retired on October 25, 2017. Telling his wife, he would make the best house husband ever. Retirement was short lived as two weeks later he started working at True Value in Plain City, Utah, but he held up to the house husband roll as well.
In retirement, Ron found peace and happiness in the quiet joys of life. He loved gardening, tending to his flowers and vegetables with patience and care. One of his greatest joys was spending time with his “baby boy” Otis, his cherished dog. Whether it was long walks or bike rides alongside his wife, Rose. Ron treasured those moments of simple companionship and fresh air.
Rooted in his faith in Jesus, Ron lived a life marked by humility, service and quiet strength. His belief shaped the way he treated others with compassion, grace and a generous heart. A faithful father, he led his children and many to the Lord. His life was a living testimony of faith.
