Samuel Floyd Smith Allen

Sam passed away June 17, 2009 at his home. He was born in Cody, Wyoming March 13, 1933 to Arnetta Margaret Bowles, and Esker T. Smith.

He lived in Cody, Pinedale and Afton Wyo. His parents later divorced. His mother met and married Leo Duane Allen in Ogden, Utah in November 1934 a€" they later divorced. They moved to Huntsville, Utah, born there were two sister's Veloy and Valine. The family later moved to Ogden, then Wisconsin and back to Ogden. A brother Darrell Duane was later born.

Sam attended Ogden City schools. He met and married Carolyn De La Cruz, they lived in Ogden. They had two children Debbie Ann Allen and Samuel Edward Allen.

Sam enjoyed camping, hunting, and fishing., he introduced Carolyn and the children to them. Sam also loved to read.

He worked several jobs as a young man. He was a welder and steel cutter for Jetway Steel. He later moved with his children to Oregon, where he worked on the irrigation sprinkler wheels (circles). They later moved back to Ogden.

He is survived by his sister Veloy, daughter Debbie (Danny) Ross, son Eddie. grandchildren AuBree (Jorge), Danny Ross Jr., Lydia, Nicky, Jena. One great-grandchild Zrye, also survived by several nieces and nephews.

Sam was preceded in death by his mother Margaret, step-father Leo, wife Carolyn, sister Valine, brother Darrell, nephew Roger Leavitt.

Graveside services will be held Tuesday, June 23, 2009 at 11:00 a.m. at Chapel of Flowers Cemetery , 836 36th St. Ogden, UT.
