Sherry Morse passed away peacefully on Wednesday, November 12, 2025, surrounded by her loving family. She was born in Ogden, Utah on February 18, 1955, to Robert Wayne and Sharon Braithwaite Knight, the oldest of five children.
She married her high school sweetheart Teddy Gerald Morse on March 5, 1971, and they were later sealed for time and all eternity in the Ogden Temple on November 12, 1976. A devoted wife and mother, Sherry shared 54 years of marriage with her beloved husband, Ted. Together, they raised eight children, one of whom preceded her in death.
As a busy homemaker, she involved her family with growing and tending a large garden, canning food, raising chickens, rabbits, and goats, and sewing clothes. Later on, she enjoyed making candy and doing crafts with her grandchildren. She taught her children by example to be steadfast in their beliefs and to work together.
Later, Sherry worked for the Ogden School District as a cook and assistant manager. She cheerfully served and loved countless students, including several of her grandchildren who were proud to point her out to their friends. She was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and was currently serving a service mission with her husband in the Special Needs Seminary.
Sherry found great joy in reading and listening to books. She loved to swim and shared many happy days at the lake with kids and grandkids. They fondly remember listening to the Beach Boys on the drive home. She loved having everyone together for holidays, birthdays, and camping trips.
She was known for her boundless compassion and genuine concern for others. Her home, affectionately nicknamed the “Morse Hotel,” became a haven for friends, neighbors, and anyone in need of a welcoming place. She opened her doors to her children’s friends who worked at Lagoon in summers, creating a home filled with laughter, love, and generosity.
Sherry will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her, and her legacy of warmth, service, and compassion will live on in the many lives she touched.
She is survived by her husband, Teddy Morse; children Jeffery Wayne Morse (Jan), Tammy Lee Morse Snyder (Garrett Bennett), Joseph Jeremy Morse (Natalie), Joshua James Morse (Tamara), Jared Moroni Morse (Lisamarie), Tiffany Lynn Morse Swartz-Skow (Jayson), and Jonathan Michael Morse (Pauline); 19 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. Also survived by siblings Robert Wayne Knight (Karen), Barbara Knight Hunsaker (Robert), John Hillard Knight (Cindy), and Linda Knight Isaacson (Gary).
Sherry was preceded in death by her parents, her infant son Paul Edward Morse, and infant grandson Taden Chase Morse.
