Teresa Mercedes Woodruff

August 14, 1958 — April 5, 2018

Teresa Mercedes Woodruff, 59, passed away April 5th in her Ogden home.  She was born August 14, 1958 in Ogden, Utah to Richard and DeNiese Carroll.  She graduated in 1976 as a “Lifer” at St. Joseph’s Catholic High School where she was a cheerleader and a member of the drill team.  Teresa was active participating in sports, volleyball, track and her favorite, skiing.  That is how she met the love of her life, at Nordic Valley Ski Resort in the ski lift line.  She married Christopher Woodruff on July 8, 1978.  She attended Weber State University and worked at Iomega, Fresenius and finally the IRS.

Teresa was a loving and devoted wife, mother, grandmother and sister who loved family activities including camping, boating, visiting National Parks, sharing family photos and she shared her father’s love of steam trains.  She enjoyed tracing the family’s ancestry, crafts, knitting and communicating with friends, both old and new, in person and through Facebook reminiscing about people and past experiences.  Her infectious laughter and zest for life brightened our lives and she will be truly missed.  Her beloved Labradoodle Gabby will miss snuggling at her feet.

Teresa is survived by her husband Chris, three sons, Patrick, Benjamin (Jessica) and Vernon (Krystal) Woodruff, one daughter Mercedes Woodruff, and two grandchildren James and Willis Woodruff.  She is also survived by three siblings, Catherine (Joe) Muniz, Margaret (Andy) McGovern and Richard (Andrea) Carroll.   She was preceded in death by her parents Richard and DeNiese Carroll, her grandparents, Vernon and Mary Carroll and Theodore and Margareta McGahan.

The family is grateful to Marie Neri from The Council of Catholic Women and to Father Delka for their special assistance in our time of grief, and to all family and friends for their kind support.

Services are scheduled for May 14th at the St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, 24th & Adams in Ogden; Rosary will be at 9:30 am with Memorial Mass to follow at 10 am.Interment will be held at Memorial Gardens of the Wasatch in South Ogden.  Condolences may be sent to the family at www.aaronsmortuary.com.  In lieu of flowers, the family request donations be made to the Ronald McDonald House, 935 E. South Temple, SLC, UT 84102 in Teresa’s honor.
