Teri Lynn Hill, 62, of Roy, Utah, passed away in her home on December 21, 2025. She has returned to her heavenly home with her mother and father whom she loved and missed very much.
Born on July 14, 1963, in Roy, Utah, to Wayne Byron Hill and Jean Elizabeth Jones Hill, Teri was the youngest of 6 children. She spent much of her childhood with illnesses that bonded her to her mother with lots of care and always wanted to be held by her. She fondly remembered her father attending to her with priesthood blessings during these illnesses and often slept between her mom and dad in bed. As the youngest, she got to spend a lot of special time with both of her parents. She helped with the garden, farm, and got lots of hands-on experience in the shop with her dad. She enjoyed watching her older siblings living their lives and soon got to play with nieces and nephews as they were born, and they became her best friends. She had her dad's musical talents, developing beautiful ability on the piano, organ, clarinet, and performing choir.
Teri graduated from Roy High School in 1981 and went on to pursue her lifelong dream of becoming a Registered Nurse. She excelled in her studies and found a deep passion in education as well as caring for her patients. She spent most of her career in pediatrics at McKay Dee Hospital as well as Primary Children’s Hospital. During this time, she also provided respite care a few hours a week for a chronically ill child in the child’s home. She later was hired by Dr. Lee J. Malan in his Plastic Surgery Practice maintaining the anesthesia during surgery and providing post-op care. She retired from her career with him at his practice in Ogden. She formed many special bonds with her co-workers that lasted her lifetime.
Teri married and had two wonderful children. Her children and family were her entire life. They spent lots of time traveling, most notably exploring the beautiful State of Utah. They also took many trips boating, three wheeling, sledding, camping, and many, many, many trips to the Hill Family Cabin up Ogden Canyon. These were the moments that she truly enjoyed.
The death of Teri’s parents was especially hard on her and uprooted many things in her life. This led to a divorce which opened up many more opportunities in her life. Teri began exploring who she was as an individual and found some great friends who embraced her and made her feel seen and loved in a way she had not experienced before. The friends she made and the person she became during this time was truly special to her. She always wanted to make everyone feel like they belonged, had a friend, and felt loved and special.
Teri found the most joy spending time with her grandchildren. She loved being the Nana that got down on the floor and played with them in their world. They looked forward to her visits and loved snuggling with her when all the playing was done. Teri enjoyed working in her yard and had created a little paradise for the grandkids to play, complete with a trampoline, pond, and sandbox.
Teri is survived by her 2 children and 7 grandchildren: Davis (Cassy) Gentry: Benson and Wesley; Jerika (Jordan) Stewart: Ryleigh Ann, Ryleigh Blake, Brynelle, Kielynn, and Jamesyn, as well as 5 siblings: Connie, Sue, Wayne, Jerry, and Jeannie, their spouses, and many nieces and nephews, whom she loved very much; and many friends that will be impacted by this loss.
A celebration of life will be held for Teri on Saturday, January 24, 2026 from 10 am to noon at the church located at 4524 S 2525 W in Roy.
