Listen to Obituary

Treva Lynn Smotony Fendrick passed away quietly in her sleep on December 3, 2025. She was 71.

She is survived by her husband Mike, her four sons Brian, Kyle, Kevin and Scott; and her three daughters-in-law Julie (Brian), Heidi (Kevin) and April (Scott). She had a special relationship with all three of her son’s wives. She is also survived by her seven grandchildren, Sophia, Kasin, Lily, Lucy, Lydia, Kate and Archer. She loved them all and was very proud of each of them. She was preceded by her father Wayne, mother Bonnie and her brother Mark.

After growing up in Reno and being in her high school choir, she entered the U.S. Air Force at the age of 19, where she met her husband and got married while at D.L.I. in Russian language tech school. He has often said: “Met her in January, dated in February, got engaged in April and married in May.” Fifty-one and a half years later she was still the love of his life.

After raising a family, she entered Nursing school and embarked on a career as an RN. Rising to the level of facility manager at Bonneville Dialysis, she retired in 2019. Shortly after her retirement she embarked on a road trip with her husband that took them 7,000 miles in 30 days. She often said that was a trip of a lifetime. 30 days in a car and we didn’t kill each other. After retirement she went to every grandkid event, game and performance that she could. She was so proud. She was also a skilled cross stitch and hardanger creator. One of her works won a region wide award and still hangs in the house.

The family would like to thank Dr. Hemmersmeier (family), Dr. Cassel (oncology), and Nikki (Ogden Hospice) for taking great care of her over the years.

A funeral Mass will be celebrated at St. Joseph Catholic church in Ogden, on Wednesday December 10 at 10am. In lieu of flowers Treva requests that a donation be made to St. Joseph Building Fund for upkeep and repairs to the 125-year-old church. She loved that church.
