Valerie was my first friend at age 12 when we moved here from Georgia. We had many adventures together from 6th grade on into high school. We saw each other often when she came home and played golf together for Tom's memorial tournaments. I will miss her and will cherish our many years of friendship. RIP my dear friend.

I am so saddened to hear of Valerie's passing. We first met in 1976 when we worked together at the Salt Lake City Air Traffic Control Center. We became good friends at work and Val was a joy to work with. We lost contact some time after 1981 and I often thought of her as one of my good friends that I missed as life took us in different directions. Valerie you were a great controller, a great friend and we will all miss you dearly. I know you will be flying high above and watching over all of us.
