Vicentita "Shanie" Gallegos Vigil Perez Our beloved mother, sister, grandmother and great-grandmother, was called to glory by our Heavenly Father on April 6 in Ogden, Utah; Vicentita passed away peacefully, surrounded by her children, family and friends. Vicentita was born on December 11, 1941 in Del Norte, Colorado to Delphino "Dallas" and Lillie Gallegos. She was a life-long resident of Ogden.
Vicentita married Simon Vigil, later divorced but remained close friends; she married Robert Perez, later divorced. Mom loved sewing, trips to Wendover, crossword puzzles, was a great artist, and a great bowler in her youth. Mom was an excellent cook; we loved her enchiladas. Mom was as a gracious host, her home was always open to friends and family. Mom, you will always be remembered for your giving heart; you sacrificed much for others.
Vicentita is survived by her children, Yvonne Devlin, Simon (Chris), Manuel (Ronda), Prudence (Jeff), Bernadette (Doug), Tony (Kim), Edward (Victoria), Angelique 11/ Angie", Dallas; 22 grandchildren, 5 great-great-grandchildren; and Alyassa and Troy (grandchildren she was raising); brothers and sisters, Sally (Jose) Jaramillo, Margie Gomez, Charlie (Leslie) Gallegos, Frankie (Susie) Gallegos, Connie (Juan) Florez, AnnaJane (Charles) Arroyo, Dallas "Freddie" Gallegos and sister-in-law, Anna Gallegos.
Vicentita was preceded in death by her parents, her beloved daughter, Marlene Amirault; grandson, Edward Perez; great-great granddaughter, Passion Mills; siblings, Ruby Mata and Arthur Gallegos and several nieces and nephews.
Special thanks to Yvonne, Angie and Uncle Frankie for the care and support you gave to Mom; also to McKay Dee Hospital staff, especially the third floor staff.
Funeral Services will be held Thursday, April 11, 2013, 11 am, at Aaron's Mortuary, 496 24th St, Ogden, Utah. A viewing will be held Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 pm with Holy Rosary at 7 pm. Interment Ogden City Cemetery.
