Born in Thermopolis, Wyoming & raised throughout the states.
Wayne was married to his "Dobber" and love of his life Dorothy Ann Willis on September 25, 1972.
We could say Wayne was loved and adored by everyone that he came in contact with but that would simply be untrue.
Wayne was passionate, stubborn, opinionated, and hardheaded. The loss of his father at the age of two paired with being raised by a single mother taught him to be a survivor and to fight for what he wanted and believed in. He might fight with you or against you depending on the situation. However, if you had facts and debated well; you might just earn his love and respect and then he would even fight for you. This fighting spirit is what kept him alive through many situations in life, but mainly with years of heart disease, attacks, a 5-bypass surgery and 28 stents.
He kept his circle small and didn't regard many as friends so if you were loved, trusted or respected by Wayne it was because you earned it, and it should be treasured. Wayne had Dottie and to him she was the only best friend he needed! They were companions and partners in crime. She was more than his wife and friend; she spent a lifetime taking excellent care of him with patience and strength that is unmatched.
Wayne could tear up the town with the best of them in his younger years. The stories he could tell would make a sailor blush- from a short marriage to a gal named Brenda to the bar fights where his size was mistaken for a weakness and his inner rage made them rethink ever messing with him again. He re-lived those days often when telling stories and having a good laugh. However, he was extremely proud of his sobriety and sported an "Easy Does It" tattooed on his right forearm as a daily reminder.
Wayne served in the military and was a proud Veteran. Although he did not speak much about his time in the service or the times of the Vietnam war. He was a proud patriot!
He had many jobs and many talents. He was a chef, owned a bar, amongst other things but loved being an appliance repair man for many years for A-One appliance repair. We believe he missed his calling of owning his own casino. Wayne loved the thrill of the win and even enjoyed the losses; considering them wins because he and Dottie were together.
Wayne loved his family and was extremely proud of them and their accomplishments. He was a man that didn't like to be vulnerable and held those cards close to his chest. However, over the last few years he has softened some and would share his pride of family, saying how much he loved and how proud he was of them.
Wayne is survived by his best friend and wife, Dottie; children, Christa Frew and Johnnie "Tucker" (Jamie) Doak; grandkids: Shye'Anne & Preston Frew, McKlay, Tucker, and Rylan Doak; great grandkids: Saydee, Andrea, and Kaylor Atmore, D'Saun Henderson, and Emma Roberts; brother-in-law, Sol Willis; and sister-in-law, Christa Willis.
He was preceded in death by his parents; in-laws; son-in-law, Ken Frew; and his "Angel" granddaughter, Angeleque.
We would like to thank the IHC hospice caretakers, with special thanks to Laura, for being beyond gracious, patient, and kind. His doctors and staff throughout the years that, through their care, gave us more time and years to love him.
Per his request there will not be services held. There will be a private service with military honors at a later date.
