Bill Parsons, 72 years old, passed away in the early morning hours of Aug. 12, 2023. Bill was born June
26, 1951 in Holyoke, Massachusetts. His parents, William Parsons, Jr. and Jeanne (Theroux) Parsons
brought him home to 300 Chestnut Street where he grew up. Bill had two siblings, Betsy (Ray) Meaden
and Paul Parsons.
Bill told lots of stories about living in the Blocks and the group of boys he played with. He was the kind of
guy that made lifelong friendships. Bill had a nick name for every one of his friends. They all called him
Billy. From all the stories, Bill was a wild child.
Bill was raised Catholic. He attended Perpetual Help Catholic Church and served as an alter boy there.
He attended Catholic schools and graduated from Catholic Seminary.
At 18 years old, Bill enlisted in the Army and served his country in the Vietnam War. He said he went to
Hell and back in Vietnam, but he made it out alive. He will receive the military honors he deserves. In his
family’s eyes, he is a hero and should be honored.
Bill was a hard worker. After the war he worked in the Milton Bradley warehouse, in a paper mill and
cleaning carpets and floors. Sometimes he worked 2 or 3 part-time jobs. He found his niche when he got
hired at Westover Job Corps. He worked every position possible and advanced to be the Property
Manager. He had a 20-year career at Westover. In 2010, Bill applied and accepted the position of
Corporate Property Manager for Management and Training Corporation in Centerville, Utah. He traveled
the country and trained employees at Job Corps facilities. He opened and closed out facility contracts
and inventoried equipment for all the government property. In his retirement, he still worked as a Lyft
driver and at the Cox Auto Auction in Woods Cross, Utah.
Bill was a talented photographer. He entered his photos in competitions and has photos that were
published in a book. He loved to visit national parks. He enjoyed sports. His favorite teams were the
Boston Red Socks, Bruins, Celtics and the New York Giants. Bill loved to watch the news and kept up on
all current events.
Bill had one daughter, Casandra Parsons. He called her Cassie Jean the Jellybean. He was very happy
when Cassie met Kyle Kawafuchi and their relationship blossomed. Cassie and Kyle welcomed their
daughter Rylee Joy on April 26, 2023. Bill was overjoyed to officially be a grandpa and he smiled from ear
to ear when he talked about Rylee.
Bill met Michelle Barnes at MTC. At first, they were friends, but one day Bill asked her out for lunch and
asked her to go out with him. They were together from then on. They were each other’s sweethearts ,
soulmate, best friend and the perfect match. He became an integral part of our family. He was a bonus
dad to Kaylee and Becky and a bonus papa to Kenyon, Bo, Brielle and Braxtin.
Bill was preceded in death by his mom and dad and many friends and relatives. His death was
unexpected and it’s hard to accept. We are finding peace in knowing he is no longer in pain. We know
he is having a great time with his dad and mom and good friend Nappy (David Fournier). We love and
miss him. A celebration of life to include his military honors will be held at a future time.
