October 9, 1944 - December 28, 2020

Bridget Irene Lukas died peacefully at McKay Dee Hospital in Ogden, Utah on Monday, December 28, 2020 with family at her bedside.

Bridget, the eldest daughter of Walter and Betty Hyre, was born in Dayton, Ohio on Monday, October 9, 1944.   After attending Dayton’s Northridge High School, Bridget worked in a wide variety of jobs to include bookkeeping and payroll, tax preparation, apartment management, hotel reception, and medical clerical work.  She also served as a 911 Emergency Dispatcher for Virginia’s Warwick and York counties.

Bridget enjoyed visiting The Colonial Parkway with her family at sunset to watch deer coming out of the forest to feed, followed immediately with a visit to Baskin-Robbins in Williamsburg for a couple of scoops of her favorite flavor -- Baseball Nut.  She was equally enthusiastic about cauliflower, raspberries, Sunday brunches, Busch Gardens, slot machines, Disney World, NASCAR, Bingo, and making special birthday ‘Cody Pie’ for her great nephew, Cody Sanders.

Bridget was preceded in death by her father and mother (Walter and Betty Hyre), sister (Elinora); and son-in-law (Mike O’Donnell).  She is survived by her husband of 36 years (Geoffery); sisters Ellen (Dave) Keener and Janet (Jim) Evans; her three children: Kim (Kenny) Sousa; Rusty (Tammy) Custer and Beth O’Donnell; her five grandchildren: Ashley (Kevin) Chester, Aimee (Joey) Christensen, Jacob Snow, Justin Custer and Joshua Custer, and four great-grandchildren (Riley Lyn, Madelyn Grace, Clara Hope and Brooke Isabella Joy).

A remembrance service will be held in Ogden, Utah at Aaron’s Mortuary & Crematory, 496 24th Street  on Saturday, January 2, 2021 at 11AM.
