Carl Allen Bennett

Carl Bennett, better known to his friends as Two Beers; to his children as Dad; and to his siblings as Brother, passed away early Wednesday morning, June 3rd, at his son’s home in Ogden, Utah. He was 83. He passed peacefully from complications of pneumonia. A memorial service will be announced at a later time.

Born the 7th child to Dee and Lorain Bennett, Carl was born on December 23rd,1936 in Oklahoma. With his family he settled in Lincoln, California. There he met the love of his life Sue Bennett. The two were married on April 3rd,1955. Together they raised their two boys: Douglas and David. Before her passing, Carl and Sue celebrated 55 years of marriage. Both believed that marriage took work and understanding (and on her part, lots of patience).

Carl served in the United States Army until 1958. Later he began a career with the DOD at Tracy Defense Depot where he retired in 1994.

He loved to shoot skeet and trap with his friends at the Stockton Gun Club. Dubbed California’s worst fisherman never stopped him from picking up a pole and trying to catch the big one. Carl was the organizer of many family reunions and loved to BBQ for gatherings friends and family. One of his favorite roles was being grandpa to Jacob, Zachary, Mikayla, Gabriel, Josh, Alex, and Olivia.
