Douglas Edward Betker

August 22, 1957 — July 3, 2021

Douglas Edward Betker of Layton, UT, died in his home on Saturday July 3rd at the age of 63.

Doug was born in Soap Lake, WA on August 22nd 1957. He grew up most of his life in Yakima, WA then settled in Layton, UT.

Doug is preceded in death by His father Richard, his Mother Shirley and his brother Gary (Shelley).  He is survived by his wife Diana, son Mike (Jamie), his 3 grandchildren: Austin, Dylan and ZoeJane, his step children: Jason ( Codie) Densmore, Stacy (Lance)Tuck, Eric (Kindra) Densmore, his brothers Steve (Kathy), Terry (Tina) and Randy.

In his younger years he served in the U.S army reserves.
Some would say he was crazy, others said he was the toughest guy they'd ever met but most would say that his heart was bigger than his body. He had a contagious laugh and always loved to pull a prank on someone and be the center of attention. He loved his grandchildren and when his health allowed he was always a part of their extra curricular activities. Doug had a way with people, everybody always said "he could sell ice to an Eskimo"...
He will be missed but he is no longer in pain and for that he is blessed...

There will be a very simple celebration of life (to share stories and memories)on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at 4 pm at the LDS Church building located at 2120 Gentile Street, Layton, Utah 84041.
