Katherine Lynn Paige

October 23, 1947 — September 27, 2019

Katherine Lynn Worden Paige died peacefully on Friday, September 27th, in Ogden, Utah at the age of 71.  Kathy was a dedicated wife, daughter, mother, and grandmother who sacrificed her time and often her health to be there for those she loved.

Kathy is survived by her husband, Brian, two sons, Jason (Jennifer) and Warren (Amanda), her mother, Anna Worden, siblings Steven (Nancy), Julie (Stephen), Diana (Marvin), Martha (Jim), and Sylvia (Roger). Kathy had 4 grandchildren.  She is now able to be with her father, Dale, who preceded her in death.

Kathy was born on October 23rd in San Diego to Dale and Anna.  Growing up in Salt Lake, she graduated from Highland High in 1965. She later continued her education at the University of Utah and finished her degree in nursing at the University of Hawaii.  In Hawaii, she met a Waikiki Beach Boy named Brian who teased her about her lack of tan. Thus, began more than a 50 year relationship. They were married in 1969. Kathy worked for many years as a psychiatric nurse.  She also labored in her favorite job as an amateur genealogist where she researched countless hours to find ancestors for her own line and that of her husband, even teaching herself to read in Portuguese and Italian to research parish records from hundreds of years ago.  Her sons recall spending many hours searching through cemeteries looking for that one name. She remained dedicated to her genealogy work until the very end. After both their sons relocated to Utah, Kathy and Brian also moved to be near their new grandchildren.

She will be remembered as a wonderful gospel doctrine teacher. She also loved online scrabble and Korean dramas and taught herself enough Korean to understand them. She enjoyed nature, geology, traveling, and antiquing.  Thank you to all her friends and family who visited and enjoyed her sense of humor and wit. Thank you to the kind and dedicated staff at Ogden Regional.

A graveside service is scheduled for 11 a.m. on Friday Oct. 4th at Hooper Cemetery, 5301 S 6300 W, with a luncheon to follow for family and friends at 1288 W 1300 N, Clinton, Utah. All are welcome to attend. No flowers, please.
