Growing up on the farm in Alpine he was a happy young man and always helped with the chores ESPECIALLY when his older sister didn’t want to clean the chickens. Lynn graduated from American Fork High School with the class of 1972. He then went on and Joined the US Army in January of 1973. Lynn served in the United States Army as a Combat Engineer. Lynn planned to retire from Carrier in January so it would be 50 years to the day since he had enlisted. Later in life He worked tirelessly as an appliance repair man. He Loved his job at Carrier Transport as the lead AFS tech.
After returning home from active duty in 1976, he married Dori Harris in April of 1977. He became an instant dad because of Dori's daughter Crystal Lynn Harris born in December of 1976. They added to their family with their son Robert in 1978 and daughter Sariah in 1979. Lynn divorced and later remarried Dori. After they separated the second time he never remarried.
He enjoyed working on his yard, being the best dad and grandpa, hanging out BBQing with Kenny, his best friend, He really liked his job and rarely missed work and he LOVED the Utah JAZZ. Lynn always cared about his family, country and God. Many people comment on how he was always so caring and helpful, you know he would give you the shirt off his back at any given time. Lynn was very proud of his kids especially Love like Lynn Didhis daughter Sariah that followed in his footsteps by serving in the Army, his son-in-law Jason and his grandkids. He never missed anything they were involved in. Recently he even helped a friend by watching her son named Noah, everyone knew him as Lynn’s little buddy. Lynn would always try to make sure to call you on your birthday! He tried to get his family together for Christmas dinner with all of his extended family. We could go on for days about Lynn but if you knew him then you already have an idea about the kind of man he was and the character he had.
He was the best dad, a great brother, uncle, son, cousin, nephew and grandpa, but most of all he was an Awesome Friend to have. His compassion towards others will live on as his legacy. We say Love like Lynn Did. It’s not Goodbye-Its until we meet again.
