Margaret H Lopez

July 31, 1928 — January 3, 2021

Margaret H. "Marge" Lopez of West Haven, Utah passed away Sunday evening, January 3, 2021 at the Lotus Park Assisted Living facility in West Haven, Utah.   A devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and friend, Marge was known for her faith example, love of humor, quick wit and heartwarming smile. Marge was born on July 31, 1928 in Madera, California to Hilario Huizar and Francisca Rivera and graduated from Colton High School in 1946.

 On June 21 1952, she married Raymond Louis Lopez and together they had three children.  In addition to being a devoted wife and mother, Marge was also an employee for Shepherd Oil in Provo Utah for many years.  After retirement, she served as a Volunteer Foster Grandparent at the University of Utah. She particularly loved this position and loved all her Foster Grandchildren that affectionately called her Grandma Marge!  She also traveled with doctors to different locations across the state to translate for Spanish speaking parents.
Foremost in Marge's life was practicing her Roman Catholic faith. Her devotion to Jesus Christ, and prayerful affection for the the Blessed Mother of God, Our Lady of Guadalupe, was often witnessed in her commitment to the Rosary which Marge prayed fervently and frequently.  Marge was an active member of the St. Francis of Assisi Parish and School in Provo, Utah as well as St. Ann’s Catholic Church in Salt Lake City, Utah.

Marge is preceded in death by her husband Raymond Louis Lopez, sisters Mary Rivera, Ruth Wilkens, and Josephine Singh.  She is survived by her children Carl Raymond Lopez (Kaye) of Eagle  Mountain, UT, William Victor Lopez (Jeanne) of West Jordan, UT and Francie Duncan (James) of Riverdale, 7  grandchildren, 17 great-grandchildren and 2 great-great-grandchildren.

Marge’s family conveys a heartfelt thank you to the Lotus Park staff for the special attention and great care Marge received while a resident there the last several years. Our sincere thanks to Shaylee and Chaplin Tom of Symbii Hospice.  A special thank you Carrie Held, who helped our family a great deal.  

 A viewing we be held on Monday, January 11, 2021 at Aaron’s Mortuary, 496 24th Street in Ogden, from 6  to 8 pm with Vigil Service and Rosary beginning at 7 pm.  The Funeral Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Tuesday, January 12, 2021 at 11 am at St. Mary’s Catholic Church, 4050 South 3900 West, West Haven, Utah.  Flowers and condolences  may be sent to Aaron’s Mortuary.
