Sherril Cobia

August 27, 1936 — March 24, 2021

March 24, 2021 we said goodbye to our Mom, Grandma, Great
Grandma and Sister Sherril Cobia (84) Sherril passed away with several
of her loved ones by her side.

Sherril was born August 27,1936 in Ogden to Asael and Evelyn
Bingham. She has two sisters and a brother.Dina(Kay) Mottishaw, Darrel (Butch) Bingham and Vaudys Bowen.

She married James Owens and they had 3 children together. Douglas
Owens (Carla) Penny Hoel (Erik) and Carolyn Wise (Ron). They later
divorced. She married Chuck Cobia and together they had one child Sherrie
Brown ( Bill). Chuck and Sherril later divorced.

Sherril lived most of her life in Ogden. She lived on the same street she
grew up on and raised her 4 children in the home her grandfather built.
In her later years she moved to South Weber with her daughter Sherrie
then to West Point with her daughter Carolyn.

Sherril worked for McKay Dee Hospital as well as Catalina Sportswear
as a seamstress for several years. Sherril almost never went a day
without talking to her sister Kay on the phone. Sometimes they would
be on the phone so long they would put one another to sleep.
Sherril loved her crossword puzzles and diet coke. She enjoyed listening
to Elivs Presley and watching television in her recliner. Sherril lived a
very simple life that didn’t include a single lavish item. The most
valuable and irreplaceable things in her life was her family.

A special thank you to Sherril’s granddaughter Chantel (McFarland)
Murray. Sherril developed a very strong bond with her granddaughter
Chantel over the last several years. Chantel spent a tremendous amount
of time with Sherril. She would do her grocery shopping, take her to
family events, pick her up for lunch and dinner. Most importantly
Chantel showed her that she is loved. Chantel was someone that Sherril
trusted and could rely on to be there at any given moment. Having
Chantel at her side when she passed is exactly how Sherril would have
wanted it.

Sherril is survived by her four children, 16 grandchildren, 29 great
grandchildren 3 great great grandchildren sister Dina (kay) Mottishaw
brother Darrel Bingham. She is proceeded in death by her parents Asael and Evelyn Bingham,
sister Vaudys Bowen and grandson Dustin Owens.

I thought of you with love today,
But that is nothing new.
I thought of you yesterday,
and days before that too.
I think of you in silence,
I often speak your name.
All I have are memories,
And your picture in a frame.
Your memory’s my keepsake,
With which I’ll never part.
God has you in his keeping,
I have you in my heart.

In lieu of flowers, we ask that you donate your time and service to the
elderly in the memory care units in your area
