Steven Henry Asbury

October 15, 1945 — January 17, 2021

Steven Henry Asbury born October 15, 1945 passed away peacefully and unexpectedly on January 17, 2021.  Steve was preceded in death by his mother Donna Beel, his grandparents Henry and Ellen Meng, whom raised him and he adored tremendously, and his brother Gregg Asbury.  He is survived by his girlfriend Lory Linton who even though he drove absolutely crazy with his silly antics and constant requests for treats, loved him dearly.  Also his two children Andrea (Duane) Schoenfeld and Steven (Misty) Asbury, along with 8 grandchildren, and 3 great grandchildren.

Steve loved his Harley Davidson motorcycle and although he had trouble walking and standing the last few years of his life he always said he was going to “Ride it one day”.  He loved bedtime treats and old TV shows.  Saturday nights were always something he looked forward to because at 7:00 his favorite show Svengoolie aired.  Steve enjoyed the simple pleasures in life.  As long as he had his woman, tea, cats, and television, he was a happy man.  Steve struggled with most relationships in his life and after his death his family looked in a heavily guarded black brief case that was always off limits to everyone.  In this case there were old pictures of his family, photos of his children, and a letter from one of his grandchildren.  All of the love he wasn’t able to express in this life was sealed up in that case. Steve’s family takes great comfort in knowing he has been reunited with the people he loved and respected most in this life and is free from the physical and mental struggles mortality brought him. His boisterous personality and silly attitude will be sorely missed by those who knew him.
